Three days more till moving day… today, I manage to squeeze some family time and went to watch Alice in Wonderland… I had of course high hopes for the film as many of my favourite actors are in it not to mention that i’m a big Johnny Depp and Tim Burton fan… and ever since I saw the photo of Johnny Depp as the mad hatter, I just can’t wait for the movie to come out… but… what a let down… this is just another case of all hype without the substance… the film started great and i was very hopeful that it would continue getting better, but sometime in the second half, the story got worst and worst.. and the ending… was just bland… if not lazy… if feels like a shortcut ending… like they’ve build up this whole story but they didn’t know how to end it so that it justifies the first half of the show… another thing that really bothers me is the character development… i love all of their look… kudos to the costume and make up department… but the characters itself in the story was just pretty flat… example… the mad hatter… he looks mad but he doesn’t really act really really mad… the white queen is played like some sort of miss world contestant who preached world peace but doesn’t really show why she should lead the world… i don’t want to get into any details… i don’t want to spoil the movie for those who wants to go see it… but i must warn you to not get your hopes up too much because this movie doesn’t even even come close to what it could have been… at least i think it didn’t
